What happens if my NMLS license expires in Ohio?

If you missed the renewal deadline, you could take a Late CE course during a 60-day reinstatement period that ends at the end of February, offered to you by NMLS.

After five years of being inactive, you will need to retake your NMLS exam and complete any late CE courses. If you need to re-test, a test prep tool like Prep2Pass® can get you ready to re-test.

You can get an inactive license status by missing the deadlines for renewal, so it’s important that you take your Ohio NMLS Continuing Education on-time and complete your application by December 31 of every year.

What is the deadline to complete CE in Ohio?

The deadline for your Ohio Mortgage License Renewal is December 31. It’s important that you complete your Ohio MLO Continuing Education at least seven to ten days before this deadline. It can take up to seven business days for a course provider to report your course completion to NMLS and even longer for NMLS to update their database with your information.
