Choose The Best 20-Hour Online Instructor-Led (OIL) Option For Your Schedule.

With so many different work schedules, we know that it’s tough to fit required education into one schedule. That’s why we have created 2 flexible options for you to complete your course. Please read the description of each course length below to determine the best option for your schedule. Also note that the NMLS regulations state that if you cannot complete the course in the time allowed, you need to re-take the course, so make sure that you choose an option that you know you can finish at a comfortable pace.

The NMLS prohibits any course provider from allowing you to work ahead of the day's coursework. However, if you do get behind by a day, you can catch up from previous days, as long as all coursework is submitted by the final day at 11:59PM Eastern Time (8:59PM Pacific Time).

You have until 11:59PM Eastern Time on the final day to complete the course, including course videos, quizzes, tests, the final exam, and all activities. If you do not finish it in time, the NMLS requires that you re-take the entire 20-Hour course from the start. At Diehl, we understand things come up. If you already started the 20-Hour course and do not think you will be able to finish on time, we will be happy to re-schedule you for another window. It's better to do this earlier because you will have to restart completely, but we allow one free re-schedule.

The NMLS does not allow course providers to move individuals from one course to another after the course has started and after coursework has been completed. If you run into a situation where you think you will need to have more time, it's better to ask to be moved to the 10-Day before you start, or as early into the course as possible. Just give us a call or send us a quick email, and we can switch you to a 10-day course. Your progress will start over due to NMLS requirements, so again, we highly recommend you reach out earlier rather than later.

The Nationwide Multistate Licensing System (NMLS) is the agency that regulates all mortgage education for non-depositories (a.k.a. mortgage companies that are not banks that accept deposits). The NMLS was created by the SAFE Act and is designed to track licensed Mortgage Loan Originators and companies from all states through the entire licensing process. For more information about the NMLS, you can click here.

Good news! Course work opens each day at 5:00AM Eastern Time, and you can work on it at any time throughout the scheduled days, as long as all coursework, including activities, quizzes and the final exam are completed by the final date at 11:59 PM Eastern Time.

Generally, you must complete all the work for the day each day. If you get behind, your instructor may prompt you to catch up. You have until 11:59PM Eastern Time on the final day to complete the course, including course videos, quizzes, tests, the final exam, and all activities.
